EPRI Projects

Additionally, OPC has supported the following EPRI projects — many of which are ongoing:

  • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Climate Change
  • Several climate change strategy projects specific to OPC, including a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory
  • A project examining the feasibility of creating greenhouse gas emissions offsets by reducing nitrous oxide emissions from agricultural crop production
  • Toxicological evaluation of realistic emissions of source aerosols
  • The Southeastern Carbon Sequestration Regional Partnership Program (SECARB) focused on identifying carbon sequestration opportunities in the Southeast
  • A pilot project evaluating the use of chilled ammonia for capturing the carbon dioxide in power plant flue gas
