DENHAM ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF OGLETHORPE POWER BOARD

ATLANTA, GA (April 2, 2008) – Benny W. Denham of Sycamore, Ga. was re-elected to a sixth term as chairman of the Oglethorpe Power Corporation Board of Directors at a Board meeting following the corporation’s 2008 Annual Meeting of Members. J. Sam L. Rabun of Louisville, Ga. was re-elected to a ninth term as vice chairman. Each will serve one-year terms.

Denham, a member of the Irwin Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) Board, represents the Southwest Georgia Region on the 13-member Oglethorpe Power Board. Rabun, a member of the Jefferson Energy Cooperative Board, is the Central Georgia Region Member Director.

Oglethorpe Power Corporation is a $4.9 billion power supply cooperative serving 38 consumer-owned Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) in Georgia. These EMCs provide retail electric service to more than 4.1 million Georgians across the state.
