PREVOST NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, CONTROLLER

ATLANTA (Jan. 2008) – Oglethorpe Power Corporation has named Brian M. Prevost as Vice President and Controller. Prevost previously served as manager of audit and consulting for Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), one of two new companies formed when Oglethorpe Power was restructured in 1997.

Prior to his service with GSOC, Prevost served as finance director for the Georgia Council on Child Abuse, held several audit-related management positions with Entergy Services, Inc., in New Orleans and Jackson, Mississippi, and was a supervisory senior accountant for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell also in New Orleans.

He holds an M.B.A. in accounting from Tulane University, a B.S. in mathematics from Xavier University, and received continuing education training from the Wharton School and IBM. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Independent Auditor (CIA), and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Prevost lives in the Atlanta suburb of Smyrna.
