William F. “Billy” Ussery was named Executive Vice President, Member and External Relations in 2008 after serving as Senior Vice President, Member and External Relations since 2005. He previously served as Vice President and Assistant Chief Operating Officer.
    Mr. Ussery joined Oglethorpe Power in 2001 after a 14-year career at Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (EMC). While at Sawnee EMC, he held several key positions, including Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Engineering and System Engineer.
    He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and an associate degree in science from Middle Georgia College.
    He serves on the Board of the Council on Alcohol and Drugs.
