Elizabeth "Betsy" (Bush) Higgins was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2008 after serving as CFO since 2004. She previously served as Senior Vice President and Group Executive, Finance and Planning, and held several other positions with Oglethorpe Power, including Vice President, Group Executive, Planning, Rates & Analysis; Vice President, Group Executive, Strategic Projects; Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Member Services; Vice President and Assistant to the CEO; Assistant to the CFO; and Senior Planning Specialist.
    Before joining Oglethorpe Power in April 1997, Ms. Higgins worked for several consulting firms, including Southern Engineering, Deloitte & Touche, and Energy Management Associates. Her consulting experience includes competitive bidding analyses, rate designs, integrated resource planning studies, operational/dispatch studies, bulk power market analysis, several merger analyses and litigation support.
    Ms. Higgins received a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from Georgia State University. In addition, she graduated with high honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree.
